The planting season has now come to an end on site. All shrubs have been set along the front of the homes, finishing off the landscaping work for this year. Over the next few months they will start to bed in, giving the site a more finished look as everything grows on.
Eddy has successfully moved into move-on accommodation, marking an important step towards long-term independence. Known for his cheerful “No problem!” catchphrase, he brought positivity to every day, and it’s great to see him take this next step with the same outlook.
His move highlights the progress residents can make when given safe housing and the right support to build a stable future.
It’s always positive to see residents progress into permanent homes. One tenant has now moved into move-on accommodation, where they will stay for the next two years before stepping into fully independent living.
This move is a big milestone, building stability, confidence and routine in a secure setting. Move-on offers the space to prepare for long-term housing while continuing to develop the skills needed for independence.
Michael, our support worker, supported Wojciech with his doctor’s appointment and shared fish and chips afterwards. With no family here, the time together provided both company and reassurance, showing the importance of everyday support.
Moments like these also give tenants the chance to open up outside of the usual setting. A simple outing can make it easier to talk, build trust, and feel more at ease.
Residents got stuck into a baking session today, making fresh cookies alongside Lillian and the Aspire team.
It was a fun, hands-on activity with a focus on practical skills, from following a recipe to budgeting for ingredients. Great energy all round, and some top-tier cookies to show for it.
Adam was awarded Star of the Month for keeping the cleanest room throughout the month. He’s also gone above and beyond by helping to clean the whole property 3 to 4 times a week. A great example to others and a well-deserved recognition!
Today marked our first life skills session, where residents got stuck in with preparing a home-cooked meal alongside Lillian, our support worker. As part of the activity, they were encouraged to guess the price of each ingredient to help build confidence around budgeting and food shopping. It was a brilliant first session, with great energy in the kitchen, and from now on, life skills sessions will take place every other Wednesday.
The Health Bus, run by Light Project Peterborough, recently visited to offer on-site health checks, wound care, and vaccinations, all supporting tenant wellbeing and access to essential care. This is really useful for many of our tenants, giving them the chance to get a health check and talk through any concerns about their wellbeing without needing to wait around or book appointments.
We’ve given Marcin, one of our tenants, his own patch at Eastfield. With over 20 years of gardening experience, he’s bringing colour, care and joy to the community and we can’t wait to see it bloom.
We’re running a first aid training session to equip residents with essential life-saving skills. It’s all about boosting confidence, ensuring safety, and fostering independence in everyday life.
A local chef is coming in to run a hands-on cooking session with the residents. It’s focused on building practical skills, boosting confidence, and encouraging healthier, independent routines around food. It’s all part of supporting greater independence in everyday life.
Paul, the first resident to join us at Eastfield, had a great morning as the council’s housing team came to film his journey. He was a bit nervous at first but soon relaxed in front of the camera — maybe there’s an acting career ahead? We wrapped up with lunch and a few laughs. A great day all round.
One of the first things we did at Eastfield was spend a day in the garden with the residents. Together, we cleared the space, laid fresh soil, and sowed grass — setting the groundwork for something we could all take pride in. There’s a rota now to check on the progress made each week, led by us and the residents . It’s a small start, but it’s shared — and we’re watching it grow, together.
